Fluor Energy, British Energy, Barnwood.
Undertook outage and new build project, on completion of the outage this gave the start for the new project work, including leading a team of new and power-station resident engineers taken from the British Energy engineering teams.

Engineering
Construction Manager for Duke Fluor Daniel in Camberley
& various UK sites. Project value £450 to £550
Million. Assisted in several project bid packages including
an 800 MW CCGT Power station, advising on the construction,
commissioning, safety procedure development, scheduling
and planned maintenance.
The main units being Mitsubishi MH 701 F GTG and MHI Steam
Turbines. Client: Aqulila Energy London/Kansas City.
Also a 400MW CCGT in Dublin, 400MW CHP in Skogen Norway,
an 800 MW CHP in Kazakhstan, and undertaking due-diligence
reports for Duke Energy.

Project
Site Construction Manager for Siemens Westinghouse
Power Corporation in Illinois USA. Client: Ameran Power
USA. Project value: $245 Million.
Responsible for leading a team of site engineers to control
the contractor during all stages of the project, reviewing
design, budget control, delivery dates of SWPC supplied
equipment, attending client/contractors weekly site meetings
and Head office project meetings in Orlando.
Constructing and commissioning a 280 MW Power Station
for Ameran Power of
St. Louis. Duties: overall in charge of all site activities,
supply, safety, construction, readiness review, start-up
commissioning and training of the O&M team, finalising
all documentation and hand over to the client.

Project
Lead Construction Engineer for Raytheon Engineers
& Constructors Ltd.
Location: Damhead Creek. Project value: £420 million.
This project was an 800 MW CCGT, consisting of two 701F2
MHI Gas Turbines multiple shaft configuration and two
horizontal natural circulation horizontal flow NEM HRSG's,
one MHI Steam Turbine with a downward exhaust, Three hydrogen
cooled Generators with all associated auxiliary equipment
and support facilities including a 24 celled air cooled
condenser, natural gas fuelled start-up aux-boiler.
As Lead Engineer my duties were to cover all field engineering
functions including design change and production, leading
a team of Engineers and Superintendents controlling the
main contractors. Commissioning and start-up with a full
training programme backed by Head Office and the vendor
specialists.

Construction/Site Construction Manager for PowerGen
International Plc.
Projects Department. Location: India. Project value £
650 million.
Managing an overseas assignment, holding co-ordination
meetings with partners in Bombay and the EPC contractor
Siemens A.G. Frankfurt. The project was a coal fired 1000
MW power station to be built in two phases, the first
being 2 x 289 MW TPS Siemens turbines and associated steam
generation units and BOP. Based in Bhopal, India taking
overall complete charge of safety, construction leading
on to commissioning with a strong input to our Indian
partners to include QA/QC.
